This was my second visit, parking was available both times though we got lucky this time. I'm not from Chicago but I've been surprised how quiet this area has been both times. Food was excellent. I got the Italian seitan wrap with fries and garlic kale. The wrap was delicious. Good flavor, satisfying mouth feel. The fries are pretty solid. Kale is quite garlicky, probably a bit strong for most people.
This place has been on my list of vegan restaurants to try for months! I finally made the visit and ordered the Italian seitan wrap with fries and a side of chipotle sauce (not pictured). It was fulfilling! I recommend adding the chipotle sauce onto the wrap for a flavor taste. The sauce with the fries were good a well. Nice spot to work from home, if possible.
Ordered delivery today (chicken sammie for me, salad for the missus) and holy forking shirtballs! This place is aaaahhhmazing. Kale My Name, you have earned a raving fan.
Nachos so good. Fries so good. Service so good. You should eat here if you like fries and/or nachos.
I came here for the vegan afternoon tea and recommend it! For $35/person, you get organic hot tea, oat milk, monkfruit sweetener, lemon, avocado toast, ajvar and pita, drink (you can pick between smoothies, mocktails, cocktails, kombucha, lemonades, wine or beer) and tea party chocolate toast. They even give you a small trunk of afternoon tea hats that you can use for free during the experience! You have a limit of 2 hours, and reservations are required. The service was excellent, and our server was really attentive.
Looking for nutritious yet tasty food, check out this vegan place in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood. Kale My Name has a range a flavorful and filling items like - Spicy Buffalo Cauliflower wings - Award-winning lentil soup - Fried oyster mushroom veggie wrap with french fries Plenty of seating and friendly service. Perfect place to catch up with a friend and you don't feel rushed.
Great vegan food! We split cauliflower wings - we asked for two diff sauces but didn't realize it wasn't going to tossed in the sauces. I think it would have been better if so, maybe bc we asked for two they didn't toss? Not sure. The wings itself were really great. I had the "chicken" sandwich. It was great! I got the garlic kale on the side but it was way too garlicly. My husband got the veggie burger but it was a little soft. Oyster mushroom wrap was great! Would go back esp if you have someone that is vegan or doesn't eat meat!
Located on the north side, I came here to celebrate my 30th birthday with a high tea celebration! It was a great experience. Even though there were a couple of snafus with the reservation, they still accommodated my party and allowed us to do the tea package. The tea was good, and since all the rest of my party are meat eaters, they were still able to enjoy some of the vegan foods. Everyone loved the avocado toast. I even got to meet the owner, who happened to be wearing purple, and he made sure I got a picture with him before we left. The service was a little slow, and we had to remind our waiter that we wanted to add additional food outside of the tea package. Street parking was available, which was great and didn't take long for me to park. The tea package comes with tea, an additional complementary beverage of your choice (alcoholic or non-alcoholic), avocado toast, red roasted pepper hummus, and a sweet Nutella strawberry banana toast. The atmosphere is versatile--you could come dressy for a brunch with friends or super casual. The TVs displayed videos of the owner talking vegan shop with another vegan food influencer.
We have been wanting to get to Kale My Name for a while and finally made it in on a Sunday afternoon. We lucked out with a nearby parking space on the side street which was also free. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and efficient. The dining room is colorful with green, brown, peacock blue, and purple elements. We decided to try a few appetizers. We ordered the Buffalo cauliflower bits, the empanadas and the ajvar and pita. We enjoyed all of it but if I went back I'd definitely order the empanadas. The potato filling was delicious and the outside was fried up nicely. It also came with a creamy dip on the side. The waiter was a bit too efficient and assumed we didn't want anything else so he brought us the bill. I was thinking about getting a slice of the vegan cheesecake or pie but decided perhaps it was a sign that I should skip dessert. So we did. If we are in the area we'd stop in again.
